Our Beliefs

What we believe and why it matters

Primera Baptist Church holds to historic Baptist convictions drawn straight from Scripture. Here is a summary, along with answers to the questions people ask us most.

Statement of faith

Eight convictions we hold

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired, trustworthy Word of God — our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

God

There is one living and true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died on the cross for sinners, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone — never earned by good works.

The Holy Spirit

The Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers to grow in holiness and to serve the church.

The Church

The church is a local body of baptized believers who gather to worship, observe baptism and the Lord's Supper, and carry out the Great Commission.

Baptism & the Lord's Supper

We baptize believers by immersion as a public confession of faith, and we share the Lord's Supper together in remembrance of Christ.

Eternity

Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and all people will be judged. Believers will be with the Lord forever.
